To Be and Make disciplesAs a tool God gives us for mission, Forgiveness functions like 'water purification' tablets for a hiker. If we're not careful bitterness can 'taint' us to the core. Only Jesus' grace makes the 'forgiven' into the 'forgiving'.
Is it possible to love an enemy? Jesus shows us how the strength of God's love can anchor us to him and to others; even when we disagree.
Hope seems to be in short supply during these challenging times. Where do we go to have our hope restored? We find the answer when we find the source of our hope.
This week, as we look at the tools Jesus gives us to live his mission, we unpack what Jesus' compassion, kindness and humility means for our witness as those of the 'Jesus' kind'.
To live Jesus' mission in the world, there are certain tools that will help us as we venture 'off the map'. Thankfulness helps us to live our faith in joy. Today we learn the What, Where and How of implementing this spiritual tool.
Many times we attempt to find joy in material possessions or different agendas and ideologies. But as we venture off the map, we need to pack the joy found in the Lord to sustain us and satisfy us.
Jesus confronts his hometown with surprising news about who the Good News is for, and confronts us with the same message today.
Going off the map requires that we learn more of Jesus, and in the process, we must unlearn ourselves.
