In Ephesians 1, Paul opens his letter with a prayer for the church to know the new reality of their place in God’s larger story of grace. To know who we are, we need more than to be taught about God’s love- we need the eyes of our hearts to be opened to the reality of God’s love for us: a movement found in the Spirit’s work released into our lives in prayer.
