Fully AliveGod chose David to represent him because he was a 'man after God's own heart'. He displayed this best in his willingness to let God re-form him when he got off track. We who are 'after God's own heart' must also be willing to let him 're-form' us daily, to help us look like Jesus.
As Esther is called to represent her people before the king, asking for his mercy, so Jesus stands in the gap for all broken humanity. How might he be calling us as his people, to represent God's love, remembering our common humanity and our common need for grace?
How do we represent God when we feel so weak? The story of Gideon shows us that God's strength is often found in human weakness. In fact, that is the surest way to see God's glory.
Who do you represent? Your nation? Your family? Your ethnicity? As we explore the story of Abraham, we will learn how he was called to relinquish those earthly identities in order to represent God's vision to bless the world.
When the world seems so chaotic, we begin to doubt God's heavenly plans. That is when we must listen to God's unchanging promise which declares he is making all things new!
In a world where everything changes, God's character will not change. From Genesis to Revelation God's heart has always been to redeem and restore his people. How will you respond to his steadfast call, to you, today?
When so many things are changing and the future appears to be so uncertain, we find our firm footing in the unchanging attributes of God.
As a tool God gives us for mission, Forgiveness functions like 'water purification' tablets for a hiker. If we're not careful bitterness can 'taint' us to the core. Only Jesus' grace makes the 'forgiven' into the 'forgiving'.
Is it possible to love an enemy? Jesus shows us how the strength of God's love can anchor us to him and to others; even when we disagree.
