Sent FishingThe "Good Samaritan" parable is a response to a man testing Jesus. This parable is much more than a moral fable showing us to be good people. When we ask questions of Jesus, are we testing him? Or are we hoping to learn from him?
The transfiguration of Jesus is a turning point in his ministry. But in the miraculous presence of Moses, Elijah, and Jesus, his disciples prefer to create a settlement for them on the mountain rather than following Jesus to the cross.
In Luke 7 Jesus’ kingdom breaks into the stories of this broken world- and redirects them in surprising ways. Jesus gives us a glimpse of the kingdom where one day death will become life, enemies will be made friends, and the Lord will wipe the tears from all faces. Because of Jesus, new life is our future. That is his heart. The chapter you’re walking through today may feel very dark or broken - but because Jesus comes for you- you can trust the joy of resurrection life is also being written into your story!
Jesus' confrontation with the religious leaders about the meaning of the Sabbath has plenty to teach us about our own misunderstandings today.
Being called to be fishers of men may mean getting "cast out" of the boat.
Jesus was welcomed in his hometown as he taught and read scripture in the synagogues. But all that changed when the locals realized that Jesus' mission included the Gentiles. How does the message and mission of Jesus draw us out of our comfort zones to serve the "least of these?"
The "Lord's House" is not the place God lives (all heaven and earth cannot contain him) but when we gather to worship, he meets us (he inhabits the praise of His people). Because of Jesus' sacrifice for us, we have become the living temple of his presence. Following Jesus’ example, how will you grow this year in letting your life be the place the Lord lives?

The Holy Spirit is a main focus of Luke's Gospel. As we explore the story of Simeon and Anna encountering the infant Jesus at the Temple, how is the Holy Spirit working to reveal Jesus to them and to us?
