Amazing GraceWhy does Jesus think that children are the greatest? Because God loves to help those who can't help themselves.
Find out what it means to "believe in miracles" through the eyes of Matthew and the experiences of Peter.
To live out what Jesus teaches us to pray in the Lord's prayer, that God's will be done, "on earth as it is in heaven" we need to know how it is, in the kingdom of heaven. In this chapter of parables, Jesus teaches us to imagine the unimaginable- what life in God's kingdom is, will be, and can be known in kingdom moments, even here among us.
Jesus was continually being accused of breaking the Sabbath by the religious leaders of his time. Find out how Jesus challenged and reframed their (and our) misunderstanding of God's intent in calling for a day of holy rest.
In Matthew 10, Jesus sends his disciples into the world to prepare people to receive the good news of Jesus' redeeming and restoring work for them. What can we learn from this account about what Jesus wants for people, and for us as his disciples as we live as his 'sent' ones, to our communities today?
Jesus continues his healing ministry, delighting the faithful and confounding the religious. He also sets out a challenge to pray for workers for the harvest. As his disciples, how do we continue Jesus' ministry, and what do we do with his prayer for workers?
There are many things we think will separate us from the Love of Christ; things that often separate us from one another. But Matthew 8 shows us through multiple stories what the apostle Paul reflects in Romans 8; the heart that asks will not be separated from the gift of Christ. The grace of the cross is for all who confess they need it.
As Jesus concludes the Sermon on the Mount, he makes it clear that his words aren't just good advice, but are the only sure foundation for building our lives upon
What moves you to give to others? Discover what Jesus taught his disciples about what lies at the heart of our discipleship.
In the passages leading into the Sermon on the Mount we see Jesus' approach to a hurting world. He finds us where we are, teaches us God's heart, and proclaims that he comes to us. The ones who are Blessed, are those who know their need, and are humble enough to receive what he comes to give. How can we learn from Jesus' approach to us, as we approach others in his name?
