Most people have some picture of God. We don’t always know where it comes from or what it means, even though it shapes how we think and act. Join us for this week’s message to see how Jesus offers a simple and mysterious picture of God that can change everything else in life.
In our culture, preparations for Christmas often include decorations, baking, gift buying, concerts and parties. In our hearts, however, we can only prepare to celebrate the gift of Christmas by preparing to honor and to receive the one who came to be our Savior. But who is this child who was born into our world? This advent we take a journey through the book of Luke, to find answers to that question!
Thanksgiving is a time when many of us feel full in body and soul. It's also a time that touches our emptiness. Join us for this message to learn about the fullness that Jesus gives to all who to come to him.
Just like a house, every life is built on a foundation of something. And just like a house, storms in life will test our foundations. Because he loves us, Jesus urgently invites us to build our lives on the solid rock of his teaching. The Sermon on the Mount is a beautiful vision, but it will do us no good at all unless we put it into practice in our lives.
Nobody ever actually pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps. In this life we depend on the power of God. Join us this week as Jesus teaches us to trust that God hears our cries for help and that he gives good gifts to those who ask.
Don’t judge me! We live in a world that’s full of judgement even while most people hardly believe in right and wrong anymore. In the midst of this confusion, Jesus gives us something better, an opportunity for both grace and growth. He invites us to see the world with the love and truth of Christ.
Worry is a heavy burden to bear but a regular feature of life. Jesus shows us why it’s not needed in a life with Him and how we can find freedom from our worry and fear.
Treasures come with security and risk. They represent value, but losing them is painful. Jesus leads us to find and store our treasures in Him, where they will be safe for now and forever.
Prayer is personal and natural, but just like everything else, it can also be learned. In the “Lord’s Prayer,” Jesus teaches us how to pray for God’s will in our lives and our world and leads us on a journey that has the power to reshape our deepest desires.
